I'm Pagan and I am very open to anyone that asks about my spiritual choice. I am raising my kids to be very open about all religious beliefs in the world. From Pagan beliefs/holidays, to Christianity, to the 'hallmark' holidays. I have family that is very down on me for that and how could I raise my kids not to believe in god, and blah blah blah. I also have family that is very supportive. My question is, am I the only one dealing with this, and how do others deal with it? What is the best way to tell those family to stop?

Sheryl, I think that is a very good question. I too can struggle with this at times. Most of my family are Christians, but they range from agnostic to atheist and more. I feel that no matter what I believe my kids are their own people and  they deserve the respect to find what they believe on their own. I was always told what I was supposed to believe even though neither one of my parents ever followed it. I think that if you raise your kids to have good morals and be decent people then they can find God on their own. In my personal beliefs I do believe in God and I am not secretive about that and I believe that God will make contact with all people. You are an amazing mother and you are doing a great job. As for your family. They need to butt out and let you raise your kids your way. You Go Girl!

Lots of love!

Hi Sheryl! Kristina here! I agree wholeheartedly with Amanda. I will only add this, try to be patient with family and friends who have problems with your parenting choices in this area, because your children will learn their acceptance of other religions (and people who dispute your faith) from you.  Try to explain to your family when they question you that you respect their right to their faith, and you ask only that they respect yours.  If this is something they cant do, then their choices may lead them to have limited involvement in your and your children's lives.   Have faith in your faith, and know that you are the one who is raising your children. You are doing a wonderful job!

XOXO
